Position: Quarterback

What should Knights fans expect from this player in 2023?
We expect Matti to be a leader for us this year. He has all the physical gifts to become a USports quarterback and we saw that in the 2023 OSFL Final game as he took home MVP. Fans should expect accuracy and explosive plays throughout the game from Matti to his variety of talented receivers.
How does Matti impact your roster?
Matti will be the glue to our offence. We are returning 9 starters from last years team. An extra year for him has already shown drastic improvement from the 2022 season. We will look for him to be the glue to our offence.
How does Matti handle leadership responsibilities in this position?
Matti leads by example more then words. It does not matter the score of the game or the opponent he takes 110% effort and preparation mentality. We look forward to seeing more of his growth this year.
What do you consider to be Matti’s most outstanding physical attribute or skill?
Matti has ideal size and arm strength for the position. He has the ability to make every throw on the field and even contribute with his legs when necessary.
How do they contribute to a team’s success beyond individual performance?
Matti effort and preparation will raise the standard at St Mary’s College for everyone involved in the program
Jaidan Trudeau
Position: Wide Receiver
Grade: 13
Height: 6’2” Weight: 175 lbs
What should Knights fans expect from Jaidan player in 2023?
Fans and opposing teams should expect JT to be a speedster playmaker all year long. His is athletically gifted and the combination of his and Matti should be one to watch. When called on defense expect him to be a lockdown corner.
How does Jaidan impact your roster?
Jaidan brings a hardnosed and versatility to our roster. JT can lineup anywhere on offence and defense and be succesfull as he has done in the past.
What are Jaidan’s strongest attributes that suit them for this position?
Some would say his athleticism – for those that coach him would say his understanding of the game. He understands when its time to dance and when its time to put your head down and get those yards. He understands what defences are trying to do to him and always has the confidence to beat the guy in front of him.
How does Jaiden handle leadership responsibilities in this position?
JT leads with words and by example. We will look to him to ensure players are giving 110% as he expects nothing less from his teammates. Jaidan accepts and wants to be a leader.
What do you consider to be Jaidan’s most outstanding physical attribute or skill?
His best attribute is his catch radius and straight up athleticism. We have not seen a receiver with the Athleticism and skill that JT posesses in quite some time in the SOO. He will display it all season long.
How does Jaidan’s contribute to a team’s success beyond individual performance? JT will raise each individuals effort and demand perfection from his teammates. We are lucky to have him for his GR 13 season
Marcus Palumbo
Position: Offensive Lineman
Grade: 12

What should Knights fans expect from Marcus in 2023?
Fans should expect a hardnosed mauling offensive lineman. Marcus has all the intangibles needed to be successful which will be displayed under the lights.
How does Marcus impact your roster?
Marcus is like having a coach on the field. His knowledge of the game has grown significantly, and we are extremely lucky to have him as he had multiple offers to leave after grade 12.
What are Marcus’ strongest attributes that suit them for this position? Marcus’s knowledge of the game and poise will be what carries him far in the football world.
How does Marcus handle leadership responsibilities in this position?
Marcus embraces being a leader on and off the field. He is truly the definition of what it means to be a knight.
What do you consider to be Marcus’ most outstanding physical attribute or skill?
Marcus’s wing span and athleticism are his greatest qualities.
How do Marcus contribute to a team’s success beyond individual performance?
Marcus’ performance and leadership will be key factor to our success on and off the field as a team.
Grant Mathewson
Position: Defensive Lineman
Height: 6’0″ Weight: 245 lbs
What should Knights fans expect from Grant in 2023?
Knights Fans should expect Grant to be a physically dominant player with a big motor. Grant will contribute on both sides of the ball and will make big plays throughout the game.
How does Grant impact your roster?
Grant will be a huge part of St Mary’s roster and will provide leadership on and off the field. Grant’s effort and love for the game will be spread team wide and the group will feed off his positive energy.
What are Grant’s strongest attributes that suit them for this position?
Grant is big and strong and nimble, an excellent around athlete that never quits. Grant will impact the game on both sides of the ball and will be a thorn in the oppenents sides.
