In front of another pack house of over 3500+ short track race fans, 65 drivers took to the track for week four racing action at the 1/3 mile Laird Raceway for Thursday Night Thunder on Thursday, August 10th.
After winning the first two four cylinder features of the 2023 season and being handed his first feature loss in week three, #05 Tyler Praysner who sits first overall in the division brought his #05 back to victory land for a week four feature win ahead of #22 Shanna Harten and #12 Fern Mannarino who crossed the line second and third respectively. In the Factory Stock division, division leader #80 Brad Bibeau finished third with #8 Dan Bibeau bringing home the feature win while #67 Jarrit Varcoe drove to a second place finish in an entertaining Factory Stock feature on Thursday evening.
After two cars being DQ’ed in the modified division feature, Goulais River #90 Jay Palumbo was awarded the modified feature win ahead of #21 Jake Irwin and #22 J.P Delpaggio for second and third in the modified feature. Sitting second in the late model division heading into August 10th, Sault Ste Marie’s Dustin Jackson captured the checkered flag in the late model feature with #77 division leader #77 Chase Wilson earning second place and veteran driver #100-R Jeremy Van Hoek taking third. Rounding out Thursday Night Thunder at Laird Raceway on Thursday, August 5th, #19R Jacob Ritchie held on the cross the finish line in first for the Enduro checkered flag with #86 Dylan Connolly and #101 Ryan Sharpe battled it out for second and third to close out week four of Laird Raceway racing.
Next up will be the final week of Thursday Night Thunder on August 17th before the $10000 season finale on Friday, August 25th and Saturday, August 26th for the 2nd Annual Mike Parsons Memorial Late Model event. Week five’s Thursday Night Thunder will start at 7:00 p.m when the green flag drops with grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. 75+ and 18 and under are free for the grandstands while grandstand prices are $20 as well as $30 for pit passes on August 17th.
