At Superior Heights on Friday, September 15th, the (0-1) Superior Heights Steelhawks hit the field against the (0-1) White Pines Wolverines in Sault Ste Marie High School junior week two action.
3:40 into the opening quarter, Steelhawk Ben Trevisanut carried the ball for a one yard touchdown for Superior Heights. Dylan Wootton added the extra point for the convert to give the Steelhawks a 7 – 0 lead. Wolverine quarterback Markeese Strawbridge ran the ball four yards to pull White Pines within one at the 11:46 mark of the second quarter. Steelhawk quarterback Chase Cerasuolo keeps the ball to rush four yards for Superior Heights second major to bring the lead to 14 – 6 after a Wootton successful convert at 7:41 of the second. Running for a ten yard carry, Trevisanut scores his second touchdown of the contest at 3:58 to increase the lead to 20 – 6 after a Wootton convert. Cerasuolo fires a four yard pass to Drayden Brock into Superior Heights endzone to give the Steelhawks a 28 – 7 lead with Wootton kicking his third convert of the game.
With 29.7 seconds remaining in the half, Garrin Pine runs for a six yard touchdown to send the game into the half 28 -12. At four minutes even of the third, Blaine Polson carries the ball for a Superior Heights touchdown on an eight yard rush to give the Steelhawks a 35 – 12 lead with Wootton adding the extra point. Wolverine Adam Hassan closes the gap to 17 with White Pines third major of the game at 13.5 of the third on a 35 yard rush. With no time left on the scoreboard at the end of the third, Dylan Wootton picks up a bouncing ball off the turf to evade three tackles and running for a Steelhawk 75 yard carry to bring the lead to 41 – 18 for Superior Heights. Wootton kicks a rouge in the fourth quarter for an extra point to give the Steelhawks a 42 – 18 win and improve the record to 1 – 1 on the season.

The (1-1) Steelhawks take on the (2-0) Korah Colts on Thursday, September 21st while the (0-2) Wolverines will face the (2-0) St Mary’s Knights on Friday, September 22nd. Both games will begin at 4:45 p.m at Superior Heights and LIVE on Saultsports TV.
