On Thursday, September 15th in Sault Ste Marie High School Football senior week two action, the (0-1) White Pines Wolverines took to the field at Superior Heights to face the (0-1) Superior Heights Steelhawks.
Steelhawk quarterback Daikaden Gauthier opened the scoring with 4.4 seconds remaining in the first quarter with a four yard carry to give Superior Heights a 7 – 0 lead after Gauthier adding the extra point with the convert for the Steelhawks. At 6:53 of the second quarter, Keenen Boissoneau brings the Wolverines within one with a five yard rush. Ethan McCorkell even the game 7 – 7 for White Pines with the convert for the Wolverines. With 2:14 left in the half, Ty Rushon ran the ball into the Steelhawk endzone for the Steelhawks second major of the contest to give Superior Heights a 14 – 7 lead after a Gauthier convert. Kaelen Cuglietta adds to Superior’s lead at 9:45 of the third quarter with a five yard rush, Chase Meyer found the uprights for the third successful Steelhawk convert to increase the lead to 21 – 7.
Garrin Pine fires an 18 yard pass through the air to Nicholas Louttit to run for a 14 yard carry into Superior Height’s endzone to pull the Wolverines with seven with a McCorkell convert at 5:39 of the second quarter. Gauthier runs a one yard touchdown for Superior Heights to give the Steelhawks a 27 – 14 win of the season to give Superior Heights their first win in three senior seasons.

The (1-1) Steelhawks take on the (2-0) Korah Colts on Thursday, September 21st while the (0-2) Wolverines will face the (2-0) St Mary’s Knights on Friday, September 22nd. Both games will begin at 7:30 p.m at Superior Heights and LIVE on Saultsports TV.
