Number #: 99
High School (Grade Fall 2026): 12
Position: Defensive End
What season are you entering with Sabercats? 3rd
Why is summer football so important to you?
Summer football is definitely a bigger opportunity to showcase my skills down south to a larger audience than back home. Playing teams from around the province and competing at a high skill level is also a fun part of it
What are your personal and team-oriented goals for the upcoming 2026 OSFL season?
My one and only goal is just to play to the best of my ability and do all I can to help the team win. In terms of team oriented goals, I think it would be awesome to lead the #1 defence in points allowed, as it’s definitely possible with this group.
What are you most looking forward to playing this season for the Sabercats?
I’m definitely looking forward to playing the top talent in triple A this year. I love the challenge of playing good opponents, and doing so makes me a better player anyways.
For anyone that is not familiar with your play style, how would you describe yourself as a player?
I would describe myself as a prototypical defensive end who plays both the pass and run well. In the pass game, I use my speed to get upfield and bend corners fast, and in the run game I use my length and power to set the edge and force plays inside.
Who is your biggest football role model? Could be a coach, teammate?
This changes from time to time, but right now, it’s coach Stadnyk. He has opened up the football world to me even more than I imagined, he has taught me so much on the d-line, and is a great person as well.
How do you stay motivated and focused during a game or practice?
Staying motivated can be hard sometimes, and whenever I don’t feel motivated, I just remember why I am doing this. I’m doing this not only for myself, but my team.
What do you think makes a great leader on the football field?
I think that making sure that the little details are checked is a big part of the game and leadership. On the line, it’s as simple as making sure everyone knows their assignments and where they’re going. Doing the little things like that really helps boost the guys around you and make them feel like they have a leader that they can go to.
What is your greatest accomplishment as a football player?
I have many, but my favourite is definitely making the all-Ontario team 3 years in a row. Starting from grade 9 I had no idea that it was even possible, and then after the season, I made 1st team, and that’s what opened my eyes to the fact that I was a decent player. 2 years in a row after, more of the same, with other accolades sprinkled in.
What makes you the best candidate for this position that the coaches have asked you to play?
I really believe that my play style is beneficial in a 3 down league because of my passing game awareness. There is going to be a lot of passing, and by far the best part of my game is getting to the quarterback. Getting pressure on the QB and even sacking him will definitely help the team in the long run, and we have the defensive line to do that.
What do you think is the most important aspect of being a member of a team?
Being a member of the team is not only playing football, but being a good person as well. Playing football is only 50% of the game, the other 50 is representing your city, bonding with teammates, building up others around you and stuff along those lines. I firmly believe that if you’re just there to “play football”, you’re doing it wrong.
Finally, what do you think is the most important quality for a football player to possess compared to other sports?
Football is a bit of an outlier in terms of team sports due to the size of the team, which is why to be a football player, you have to be able to communicate at a high level. All it takes is for one guy to not know what they are doing to mess up a play, and communication can solve an issue like that and many more. You always see these dysfunctional football teams, and that’s because of a lack of communication on all ends.
