As summer gives way to fall in just under five weeks, Sault Ste Marie High School Football programs will be gearing up for another thrilling high school football season filled with passion, rivalries, and breathtaking moments. The 2023 season promises to be one of the most exciting yet for the White Pines Wolverines senior program for the first time since 2018 after only playing two games due to shortage of players, with them possibly being the ambitious underdogs aiming to upset the status quo, and a championship chase that is wide open.

Mentality and ability to catch out of the backfield.
How does Keenen handle leadership responsibilities in this position?
Keenen will be expected to take on a big leadership role in 2023. We will ask him to
lead by example, and as a vocal Leader in 2023.

Violent running style allowing him to break off tacklers.

Nashoba Moore

While normally soft spoken, Landen is a player who shows his commitment and leadership through actions.

Landen brings a brand of natural toughness that you can’t teach or inspire into players.

Steve’s willingness to jump into the game no matter the situation or spot provides a a great example of selfless commitment to our team and program.

Steve brings strong physical play to our team that can generate the big moment in a game at any time.

Tye Couture
Position: Defensive Back (DB)

Tye will be fresh off his first season with the Sault Sabercats and will be looking to bring that experience with him to a young Wolverines squad.
What are Tye’s strongest attributes that suit them for this position?
Dedication to perfecting his craft and Fearless attitude.
How does Tye handle leadership responsibilities in this position?
Tye will be expected to take on a large leadership role within our program with his positive mentality. Alongside this, Tye is one of our most dedicated players we have showing a strong physical change through his off-season workouts.
What do you consider to be Tye’s most outstanding physical attribute or skill?
Tackling. Tye provides us with a true form tackler in our secondary.

White Pines is taking a step into the future with not only our athletics (NOSSA Jr Boys Basketball Champions, Gold Medalist At OFSAA Wrestling) but with our academics as well (Our state of the art and unique to White Pines Tech/Trades expansion and a reinforced commitment to our Indigenous Education sections).”
