Over the June 10 – 12 weekend in Midland, Ontario, the 11U Soo Black Sox finished runner up at the eight team Midland-Penetang Baseball Tournament.

Soo U11 Black Sox (7) vs DKMB Rivercats

Creemore Cardinals (14) vs (0) Soo U11 Black Sox

Game Three
Soo U11 Black Sox (16) vs (8) Barrie Baycats

After the 16-8 win over the Barrie Baycats, the Black Sox clinched the second seed in pool B and a spot in the semi finals. In semi’s, the Soo played the host and first seed in Pool A Midland – Penetang Twins where the Black Sox won 12-3 to advance to the final and give them a rematch with the Creemore Cardinals.

In the finals, the Soo 11U Black Sox played the Cardinals tough and actually never trailed in the game until Creemore scored their final run in an extra inning 9-8 win.

Coach Jason Thorburn and the rest of the coaching staff took a lot of positives out of this past weekend and will look to improve for their next set of exhibition road games June 24th to 26th in Sudbury.
