Register Today for Sault Surge Aquatic New and Returning Swimmers

The Sault Surge Aquatic Team is currently accepting online registration for new and returning swimmers for the 2023-2024 season.

The Surge will be under the direction of new head coach Rod Thomas who will oversee new and returning coaches to help build an inclusive environment wherein all athletes will be challenged to be their best.
Thomas is no stranger to the Surge as he served as head coach in the 2017-2018 season. Previous to coaching with the Surge, Thomas led programs in Timmins, Burlington, and Kirkland Lake. Numerous swimmers under the tutelage of coach Thomas have won multiple medals at provincial and national level meets and have moved on to NCAA and Canadian U sports programs. Thomas himself had a successful swimming career having competed at Canadian University championship meets for Brock University and the University of Manitoba as well as winning two gold medals at the Canada Games in Saskatoon in 1989.

The Sault Surge Aquatic Team has multiple groups to meet the swimming needs of the youth of Sault Ste. Marie depending upon their individual goals and commitment level.

The Sault Surge Aquatic Team season will get underway September 17th and the team will host the first meet of the season for the North Eastern Ontario Region at the John Rhodes Community Centre pool October 28-29, 2023 as well as play host to the region’s Dave Kensit Memorial Championship meet scheduled for February 2024.
