Facing elimination and trailing 3–0 in their Western Conference Final series, the Soo Greyhounds delivered a spirited comeback performance on home ice Thursday, April 16th, defeating the Kitchener Rangers 4–2 in game four at the Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie.

Kitchener came out strong in the opening period, silencing the home crowd early. At 4:50, Cameron Arquette opened the scoring with his first goal of the postseason, finishing a play set up by Haeden Ellis and Tanner Lam to give the Rangers a 1–0 lead. The visitors doubled their advantage at 11:28 when Matthew Hlacar notched his first of the playoffs, converting off assists from Andrew Vermeulen and Avry Anstis to put the Greyhounds in a 2–0 hole after one period.

After a scoreless second period, the Greyhounds flipped the script in the third with a relentless offensive push. Jordan Charron sparked the comeback at 5:56, scoring his second of the postseason off a feed from Callum Croskery and Carson Andrew to cut the deficit to 2–1. Just over two minutes later at 8:13, Charron struck again—his third of the playoffs and second of the night—finishing another setup from Croskery to tie the game 2–2. The momentum continued to swing in the Greyhounds’ favour when Travis Hayes scored his first of the postseason at 9:58, with Marco Mignosa picking up the assist to give the Soo their first lead of the game at 3–2. Mignosa later sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 18:38, his seventh of the postseason, assisted by Brady Smith.

Between the pipes, Carter George was steady for the Greyhounds, turning aside 20 of 22 shots to earn his fifth win of the 2026 postseason. At the other end, Christian Kirsch made 29 saves on 32 shots, suffering his first loss of the playoffs.

With the 4–2 victory, the Greyhounds stave off elimination and force a game five, shifting the series back to Kitchener for a quick turnaround on Friday, April 17th. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m with the Rangers still holding a 3–1 series lead.
