Colts and Knights Earn Victories in Girls High School Volleyball Action Across the Sault

On Thursday, December 18th, Sault Ste. Marie High School Girls’ Volleyball action saw a full slate of junior and senior matchups, with the Korah Colts traveling to Superior Heights to take on the Steelhawks, while the St. Mary’s Knights hosted the White Pines Wolverines at St. Mary’s College.

In junior play, the St. Mary’s Knights earned a straight-sets victory over the White Pines Wolverines, taking the match 2–0 with scores of 25–17 and 25–22. Over at Superior Heights, the Korah Colts battled through a tightly contested three-set match to defeat the Steelhawks 2–1. Korah edged out the opening set 25–23 before Superior Heights responded with a 25–17 win in the second. The decisive third set went down to the wire, with the Colts prevailing 15–13 to secure the win.

Senior action also delivered competitive volleyball. The St. Mary’s Knights claimed a hard-fought 2–1 victory over White Pines, winning the first set 25–12 before the Wolverines answered back with a 25–15 second-set win. The Knights regrouped in the third, pulling away for a convincing 15–6 decision. Meanwhile, the Korah Colts matched that effort with a 2–1 win over the Steelhawks. Korah controlled the opening set 25–11, dropped the second 25–17, and then closed out the match with a strong 15–8 performance in the deciding set.

Girls’ volleyball action will resume in 2026, with the Korah Colts heading east to face the White Pines Wolverines, while the Superior Heights Steelhawks will meet the St. Mary’s Knights at Superior Heights. Match times are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. for junior games and 5:30 p.m. for senior contests.
