Colts and Knights Capture 2025 High School Hoops Crowns as Regular Season Concludes

On Thursday, October 30th, the 2025 Sault Ste Marie Junior and Senior High School Basketball regular season came to a competitive finish, with the Korah Colts meeting the St. Mary’s Knights at Superior Heights and the Superior Heights Steelhawks heading to White Pines to challenge the Wolverines. The final night of action helped solidify playoff standings while confirming this year’s league champions.

Junior Division Recap
At White Pines, the Wolverines closed out their regular season with a 32–22 win over Superior Heights.

Wolverines standout Niyana Fox led all scorers with 13 points, followed by teammate Olivia Morris with 9. For the Steelhawks, Fiona Prophet led the way with 4 points.

Across town, Korah locked up a 44–34 victory over St. Mary’s.

The Colts’ offence was paced by Molly Filice with 15 points and Arabella MacLachlan with 14. St. Mary’s was led by Blake Magli with 10 points, followed by Mady Pavoni with 9.

With their win, the Korah Colts were crowned the 2025 Junior Basketball League Champions.

Senior Division Recap
Superior Heights edged out White Pines 47–43 in a tightly contested matchup.

The Steelhawks were led by Leah Yule with 13 points and Rena Brouillard with 10, while the Wolverines kept pace behind 13 points from Kaizley Murray and 11 from Sara Chapman.

In another close contest, St. Mary’s topped Korah 35–33.

For the Knights, Harlyn King scored 10 points and Meris McCabe added 6, while Korah saw strong efforts from Claire Hill with 13 and Shelbee Agawa with 10.

The victory secured the St. Mary’s Knights as the 2025 Senior Basketball League Champions.

Semi-Finals Set for November 4
With regular season play complete, attention now shifts to the playoff semi-finals scheduled for Tuesday, November 4th.
