Thursday, July 28th was a long day for Black Sox 18U, falling to Soo Michigan Woodducks 11-3.
Black Sox 18U got things moving in the first inning. Connor Bruzas singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Soo Michigan Woodducks pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Soo Michigan Woodducks, an error scored two runs for Soo Michigan Woodducks, and D Adair singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Josh Lumsden earned the victory on the mound for Soo Michigan Woodducks. The hurler surrendered three runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five. Chambers threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Matthew Forsey took the loss for Black Sox 18U. The righthander allowed four hits and six runs over four innings, striking out two.
Carter Young went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Black Sox 18U in hits.
Soo Michigan Woodducks totaled nine hits. Wilson, Teneyck, and Matt Lumsden each racked up multiple hits for Soo Michigan Woodducks.
