Black Sox 18U Loses Lead Early In Defeat to Woodducks in Sault, Michigan

Black Sox 18U fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-5 loss to Soo Michigan Woodducks on Tuesday, July 27th. Soo Michigan Woodducks scored on a single by Teneyck and a wild pitch by Wilson in the second inning.

Black Sox 18U lost despite out-hitting Soo Michigan Woodducks eight to seven.

Black Sox 18U put up three runs in the sixth inning. Black Sox 18U batters contributing to the big inning included Carmine Perna and Carter Young, who all drove in runs.

Michael Bontrager was credited with the victory for Soo Michigan Woodducks. Bontrager went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking zero. Bachand and Teneyck entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Connor Bruzas took the loss for Black Sox 18U. Bruzas surrendered five runs on two hits over two innings.

EJ Suggitt started the game for Soo Michigan Woodducks. The hurler surrendered one run on two hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one

Black Sox 18U had eight hits in the game. Ty Beaupre and Cole Masse all managed multiple hits for Black Sox 18U. Masse and Beaupre each collected two hits to lead Black Sox 18U.

Soo Michigan Woodducks tallied seven hits in the game. Chambers and Bach and each had multiple hits for Soo Michigan Woodducks.
