The 2026 Sault Ste. Marie High School Junior and Senior Football schedules have officially been released, with an exciting opening day set for September 12. Fans will be treated to a full slate of four games to kick off the season, beginning at 10:00 a.m as the Korah Colts to face the St. Mary’s Knights in senior action. The Junior teams follow at 1:00 p.m with another Colts vs Knights matchup. The evening shifts across town where the Superior Heights Steelhawks take on the White Pines Wolverines, with the Senior game at 4:00 p.m and the Junior game closing out opening day under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
The regular season will run through six weeks, wrapping up on October 15 with a key doubleheader between the Korah Colts and Superior Heights Steelhawks. The junior teams will meet at 4:45 p.m, followed by the senior matchup at 7:00 p.m. With playoff positioning on the line, these late-season games are expected to carry significant weight as teams battle for seeding heading into the postseason.
Playoffs will begin on October 22 and 23, featuring semi-final matchups in both junior and senior divisions. The fourth seed will take on the first seed, while the second and third seeds will face off the following day. Championship week arrives in week eight, with the junior final set for October 29 at 7:30 p.m, followed by the senior final on October 30 at 7:30 p.m. Both games will feature the lowest remaining seed against the highest, setting the stage for an exciting finish to the 2026 high school football season in Sault Ste. Marie.
