After suffering their first loss of the 2025 U18 ‘AA’ OSFL regular season in Week Five against Barrie, the second-place Sault Sabercats (4-1) responded with authority in Week Six action. The Sabercats rolled to a commanding 49–7 win over the sixth-place Quinte Skyhawks (3-2) in Belleville, improving their record to 5-1.
Veteran leader and Windsor Lancer commit Nathan Guizzetti led the way with three rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Matti Tucker connected with AJ Coccimiglio for another major, while Ethan Serrao added a rushing touchdown and Kiran Juma returned a punt for a score. On defense, recent Ottawa Gee-Gees commit Mitchell Kommusaar capped the performance with a pick-six. Coccimiglio also went a perfect 7-for-7 on extra point attempts, rounding out the Sabercats’ complete team effort.
“We played extremely well as a team today in all three phases. We were short handed missing a few key players to injuries but a lot of our guys stepped up and we played excellent. Heading into the bye we will begin to prepare for facing Sudbury and focus on getting better as we head towards a playoff run, added Sabercat coach Jamie Antonello.
With the victory, the Sabercats head into their Week Seven bye with momentum, before hosting the Sudbury Spartans on July 5th at Superior Heights in their final regular season home game.
