In North Bay, Ontario over the November 17th and 18th weekend, the junior Superior Heights Steelhawks and St Mary’s Knights along with the senior Korah Colts and St Mary’s Knights participated in the 2023 Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletic “AA/AAA” (NOSSA) Girls Basketball Championships.
In a thrilling display of skill and teamwork, St Mary’s Knights junior program emerged victorious in the 2023 NOSSA Girls High School Basketball Championship with a 49 – 14 win over the Superior Heights Steelhawks. In the senior division and the Korah Colts making the final but falling to the Lo Ellen Knights 35 – 22, the Colts resilience and strategic play in the NOSSA championship game allowed Korah a well-deserved entry to the 2023 “AAA” OFSAA championship in Hamilton, Ontario on November 23rd to 25th. The 2023 “AA” NOSSA champions, the Lo Ellen Knights will represent Northern Ontario in Guelph, Ontario at the 2023 “AA” OFSAA Championship on November 23rd to 25th.
