SOO GREYHOUNDS – WINDSOR SPITFIRES PREVIEW (01.06.22)

December 2021 rocked the hockey world and, really, all of society. With January’s arrival, we now see what the consequences the previous month may be. The Ontario Hockey League did not escape December’s resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic unscathed.

The OHL schedule continues to be an adventure through only fault of the Ontario provincial government. Currently all twenty OHL clubs are playing in empty buildings once again.

As hockey fans we thought that hockey and sports in general without fans had seemed to be behind all of us, at least until recently. But if the 2020-21 season provided one lesson above all else, it is that the hockey and the sports world cannot escape the political considerations and concerns that surround it they have on what is happening in Ontario as we speak.
