Sault Ste Marie’s Cole Guizzetti Selected to Play in the 2026 OHL U16 Top Prospects Showcase

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) has announced the official rosters for the 2026 OHL U16 Top Prospects Showcase, scheduled for January 13–14 at the Miskin Law Community Complex in Peterborough. The two-day event leads into the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game, which will take place on Wednesday, January 14. Sault Ste Marie’s Cole Guizzetti was selected to participate in the 2026 OHL U16 Top Prospects Showcase where he will pull on the Team Tavares Blue jersey to represent the Upper Canada College U16 AAA hockey program.

In 26 regular season games as of December 11th, the 5’6” and 155 lbs forward Guizzetti leads his Upper Canada College U16 AAA program with 19 goals and 29 assists.

Cole will also be joined by several familiar faces at the 2026 OHL U16 Top Prospects Showcase from the Upper Canada College U16 AAA hockey program. Defensemen Max Fransen, Turner Stephenson, and Jay Nimchonok along forward Logan Prud’homme who round out the UCC contingent.

Guizzetti told Saultsports that “being selected for the 2026 OHL U16 Top Prospects Showcase is an absolute honour, and I’m extremely excited for the opportunity to compete and prove myself.”

A total of eighty standout U16 players from across Ontario will hit the ice for this first-ever showcase, giving rising prospects a prime opportunity to display their skill and potential alongside other top OHL Draft-eligible talent from around the province.

The rosters were selected through a collaborative process in which all 20 OHL teams submitted names of draft-eligible players they believed deserved the chance to participate in the showcase.
