As we head into week two of the 2024 – 2025 Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League, several players have already made their mark on the score sheets. Leading the pack in goals is Huskie Tyler Quenneville from Central Algoma, with an impressive five goals and three assists in just three games. Close behind is Huskies Brody Kleist from Central Algoma, who has tallied four goals and three assists, showcasing his all-around offensive game. In net, Colts goaltender Payton Melchiorre from Korah Collegiate has been nearly unstoppable, boasting a .940 save percentage in two regular season games. The league standings are starting to take shape, with the CASS Huskies sitting atop the leaderboard at 3-0, followed closely by Korah Colts with a 3 – 0 record while both the Superior Heights Steelhawks and St Mary’s Knights, both with strong 1-2 records. The White Pines Wolverines sit in fifth with a 0 – 3 record after week two action. As the season heats up, these top scorers and goaltenders will be pivotal in shaping the playoff race.
