On October 16th in Sault Ste Marie, a spirited group of 100+ high school cross country runners gathered for the 2024 Sault Ste Marie City Cross Country meet, their excitement palpable as they lined up at the starting line. Athletes from various schools showcased their dedication and competitive spirit, ready to navigate the challenging course laid out through the scenic Hiawatha Highlands. As the starting gun fired, the runners surged forward, their determination evident in every stride. Spectators cheered from the sidelines, creating an electrifying atmosphere that fueled the athletes’ drive. With each lap, the competition intensified, highlighting the grit and perseverance of these young athletes as they raced toward personal bests and team glory.

The 2024 NOSSA City Cross Country Championships will be held in Sault Ste Marie on Wednesday, October 23rd at Hiawatha Highlands.
