“Our goal from the beginning of the season was to get better every game and the results will take care of themselves. I think we did that tonight. I was proud of the level of compete from our kids especially on defense. On offence we just need to catch the football. I counted 8 or 9 drops including 2 in the endzone that we should have had. If we can fix that we will be very competitive down the stretch,” added Steelhawk coach Paul Orazietti.

Coach Tom Annett of the Korah Colts told Saultsports that “I’m very proud of our athletes.  We had a very tough and high profile game last week and we were concerned with how our team would respond this week. Our Program Leadership was excellent all week and our Athletes came out the gate ready to play! Our OL (aka The Chain Gang) was excellent and our stable of running backs also played great!  As our running backs gain more game experience, they are improving their vision and finding more cutback lanes.”

“Defensively it was a  great team effort.  We had three interceptions, multiple batted balls and defended the run very well.  Additionally, we got a lot of backup Players game reps which is critical for development and building depth going forward,” added Annett.

The Colts take their 34 – 14 win into Friday, October 7th matchup against the St Mary’s Knights with a 7:30 p.m kickoff while the Steelhawks have a bye week before closing out their regular season with a Friday, October 14th contest with the St Mary’s Knights.
