After edging the St. Mary’s Knights 3-1 on Thursday, February 26th at the John Rhodes Centre in Game Two of the 2026 Sault Ste Marie Boy’s High School Hockey League City Championships, the Korah Colts returned to the ice on Sunday, March 1st holding a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series against the St. Mary’s Knights.
With the championship within reach, the Colts delivered a dominant performance, skating to a 5-0 victory to complete the three-game sweep and secure the City title.
Korah opened the scoring at 12:15 of the first period when Deago Campagna recorded his second goal of the postseason. Campagna finished a well-executed play set up by Tyler Neveau and Preston Miller, giving the Colts a 1-0 lead heading into the intermission.
The Colts extended their advantage midway through the second. At 14:41, Campagna struck again on the power play for his third goal of the postseason. The tally was assisted by Preston Miller and Jackson Burrows, pushing the lead to 2-0.
Korah continued to apply pressure, and at 9:56, Tyler Neveau netted his third goal of the season. Preston Miller picked up another assist on the play along with Hayden Joseph, making it 3-0 in favour of the Colts.
The Colts left no doubt in the final frame.
At 10:11, Koen Manchulenko scored his fifth goal of the postseason, assisted by Will Pusch and Max Battacchio, extending the lead to 4-0.
Korah capped off the championship effort at 4:22 with a shorthanded empty-net goal from Preston Miller, his third of the postseason and fourth point of the game. The goal was unassisted and sealed the 5-0 final.
Between the pipes, Colts goaltender Will Franic was perfect, turning aside all 19 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season. For the Knights, Aaron Juma made 33 saves on 37 shots in the loss.
Colt netminder Will Franic told Saultsports that “honestly the best way to start off a game like that is confidence. Out of any game I’ve ever played that was the most confidence I have had going into, not because of my abilities, but because of my faith in my teammates and our ability to shine through when it really matters. A shutout is not just an accomplishment of goaltending but a sign of great defensemen and great forwards who always work hard to support their goalie and back check. This accomplishment really just shows how hard our boys work and how much work they put into having a well rounded game.”
Up next is the 2026 NOSSA Championships with the City Championship secured, both Korah and St. Mary’s now shift their focus to the 2026 Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics (NOSSA) Boy’s Hockey Championships, set to take place in Sault Ste. Marie on March 9th and 10th. Joining the Colts and Knights will be the LoEllen Knights from Sudbury and the Scollard Hall Bears from North Bay.
After an emphatic sweep in the City final, the Colts head into NOSSA with confidence and momentum as they look to continue their championship run on home ice.
