Sault Ste. Marie High School Girls Basketball featured back-to-back nights of action as the Korah Colts visited St. Mary’s College on Wednesday, October 1st, followed by the Superior Heights Steelhawks traveling to White Pines to face the Wolverines on Thursday, October 2nd.
October 1 – St. Mary’s vs. Korah
In junior play, the Knights defended home court with a 48–38 win over the Colts. Blake Magli powered St. Mary’s offense, scoring 25 points, while Molly Filice led Korah with 19.
The senior matchup came down to the wire, with St. Mary’s edging Korah 29–28. Claire Tuckett paced the Knights with 8 points, while Aiva Miskew scored 10 for the Colts in the narrow loss.
October 2 – White Pines vs. Superior Heights
The Wolverines controlled the junior contest, defeating the Steelhawks 36–10. Niyana Fox led White Pines with a dominant 21-point performance, while Lilly Mae Tremblay scored 6 for Superior Heights.
In the senior game, White Pines rolled to a 50–23 victory. Donna Laura Holzwarth lit up the scoreboard with 23 points for the Wolverines, while Cecilia Meade chipped in 7 for the Steelhawks.
Looking ahead, action resumes Tuesday, October 7th, with the Steelhawks visiting St. Mary’s College, while the Colts will host the Wolverines at Korah Collegiate. Junior games tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by senior matchups at 7:00 p.m.
