The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) has officially revealed the results of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection Draft Lottery, with the Oshawa Generals securing the coveted first overall pick. The historic franchise, a 13-time OHL champion, now finds itself in prime position to add another elite prospect to its lineup—marking the organization’s first time picking first overall since 2005, when they selected future superstar John Tavares. Entering the lottery with the highest odds among non-playoff teams, Oshawa capitalized on its opportunity, edging out fellow participants including the Erie Otters, Brampton Steelheads, and Sarnia Sting.
Meanwhile, the Soo Greyhounds will enter the 2026 OHL Priority Selection holding the twelfth overall pick. Positioned just outside the top ten, the Greyhounds will look to make a strategic selection to strengthen their roster and continue building toward future success. With a strong track record of developing talent, the Soo organization will aim to uncover another impactful player as they prepare for the next chapter of Greyhounds hockey.
The OHL Priority Selection returns to an in-person experience for the first time in 25 years, being held at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston on June 12-13, 2026.
