The Soo Greyhounds dropped a high-scoring 7–5 decision to the Ted Reeve Thunder in their third round-robin game at the 2026 OHF U18AA Championships in Kitchener on Saturday, April 18th.

Entering the matchup with one tie and two losses, the Greyhounds were looking to gain momentum, but a dominant first period from the Thunder proved to be the difference.

Ted Reeve opened the scoring at 14:42, as Ryder Harris netted his first of the championships unassisted. The Greyhounds responded at 12:10, with Tye Turco scoring his second of the tournament, assisted by Brett Archambault and Tucker Witty to even the game at 1–1.

However, the Thunder quickly took control. Ryder Harris struck again at 9:47, assisted by Brendan Boswell, before completing his hat trick at 1:48 with his third goal of the game, set up by Gordon Webster. Ted Reeve added another just before the buzzer, as Jalel Bieber scored his first of the championships at 0:01, assisted by Jamie Kacala and Nikhil Soreng, giving the Thunder a commanding 4–1 lead after one period.

The second period saw Ted Reeve extend their lead at 13:55, when Ryder Chang scored his first of the championships with assists from Nikhil Soreng and Loic Huang to make it 5–1. The Greyhounds responded late in the frame, as Gavin Ciotti picked up his first of the tournament at 3:00, assisted by Kingston Kellar, cutting the deficit to 5–2 heading into the third.

In the final period, the Thunder continued to apply pressure. Landon Kim scored his second of the championships at 10:04, assisted by Noah Miller and Trevor Cotton, followed by Jared Seto’s second of the tournament at 8:28, with Ryder Harris adding the assist, pushing the lead to 7–2.

The Greyhounds showed resilience late in the game, mounting a push in the final minutes. Devon Clarida scored his first of the championships at 6:51, assisted by Kingston Kellar and Logan Nakani. Just 41 seconds later, Logan Herrington added another, scoring his first of the tournament with assists from Tye Turco and Brett Archambault.

Soo capped off the scoring on the power play with just two seconds remaining, as Brett Archambault netted his third of the championships, assisted by Kingston Kellar and Ashton Edwards, bringing the final score to 7–5.

Despite the late surge, the early deficit proved too much to overcome for the Greyhounds. They will wrap up their round-robin schedule later on Saturday when they face the Brantford 99ers at 4:15 p.m. as they look to finish strong at the 2026 OHF U18AA Championships.
