The Soo Greyhounds punched their ticket to the Western Conference semi-finals in dominant fashion on Friday, April 3rd, shutting out the London Knights 4–0 in London to close out their best-of-seven quarter-final series. Entering the night with a 3–1 series lead and looking to rebound from a Game Four loss on home ice, the Greyhounds delivered a complete performance to eliminate the Knights and advance.

The Soo wasted little time setting the tone, opening the scoring just 2:14 into the first period. Marco Mignosa netted his third goal of the series off a feed from Brady Martin to give the Greyhounds an early 1–0 lead. The visitors extended their advantage on the power play at 7:52, as Chase Reid buried his second of the series, assisted by Lukas Fischer and Mignosa, making it 2–0 heading into the intermission.

After a tightly contested second period, the Greyhounds struck again late in the frame. At 16:44, Mignosa scored his second of the game and fourth of the series, capitalizing on an unassisted effort to give the Soo a commanding 3–0 lead.

The Greyhounds sealed the victory in the third period on another power play opportunity. At 13:47, Brady Martin scored his second of the series—adding to his earlier assist for a two-point night—finishing a play set up by Jeremy Martin and Mignosa, who picked up his third point of the game.

In goal, Carter George was flawless for the Greyhounds, stopping all 25 shots he faced to record the shutout victory. At the other end, London’s Aleksei Medvedev made 23 saves on 27 shots in the loss.

With the series-clinching win, the Greyhounds now move on to face the Kitchener Rangers in the Western Conference semi-finals, with the schedule to be announced in the coming days.
