The local Sault Ste Marie High School volleyball scene delivered another exciting night of action on Thursday, December 4th across both the junior and senior divisions, showcasing strong performances and competitive energy from all teams involved.
In the opening matchup in junior action, Superior Heights Steelhawks secured a 2-0 victory over White Pines Wolverines. The Steelhawks came out dominant in the first set with a commanding 25-6 win. White Pines responded with more resilience in the second set, but Superior Heights maintained control to close out the match 25-20.
St. Mary’s Knights and Korah Colts followed with a competitive battle that stretched to four sets. St. Mary’s took the first set convincingly, 25-8, before Korah answered back with an impressive 25-9 win to even the match. In the deciding set, St. Mary’s regained momentum and closed out the contest 15-10 to earn the 3-1 victory.
The Senior Division saw White Pines rebound with a strong 2-0 sweep over Superior Heights. The Wolverines controlled both sets, taking them 25-20 and 25-16, displaying consistency and teamwork throughout the match.
In the final match of the evening, St. Mary’s continued its successful run with a solid 2-0 win over Korah. The Knights held steady in both sets, earning victories of 25-19 and 25-13 to secure the sweep.
Both divisions featured standout efforts, momentum swings, and spirited competition, highlighting the depth of talent across all participating schools.
