Over the June 21st to 23rd weekend, the Soo 13U Black Sox hit the road to take part in the 2024 Rob and Tricia Morneau Baseball Tournament in Windsor, Ontario.
The 13U baseball team’s triumph in the Rob and Tricia Morneau Baseball Rep ‘A’ Tournament was nothing short of exhilarating. From the first crack of the bat to the final out, their determination and skill were on full display. Each player showcased unwavering teamwork and resilience, overcoming tough opponents with strategic plays and decisive hits. The dugout echoed with cheers and high-fives as they celebrated each hard-earned victory, fueled by their coach Jason Thorburn’s guidance and the unwavering support of their families in the stands.
This win not only marks a significant achievement for the team but also stands as a testament to their dedication and passion for the game. As they proudly hoisted the championship trophy, the entire community rejoiced in their success, recognizing the bright future ahead for these talented young athletes.

Coach Thorburn told Saultsports that “our team’s performance in the Windsor baseball tournament was outstanding. The extreme heat posed a challenge, but our players showed incredible resilience and determination throughout. Bringing home the championship means a lot to us; it’s a testament to the kids’ hard work, teamwork, and dedication. The entire coaching staff is incredibly proud of what the players have achieved so early in the baseball season.”
