White Pines C&VS have announced their 2025-26 school year fall athletic tryouts for secondary students. If you are an incoming grade 9, new to the school, or a retuning athlete please note the following practices and tryouts for boys’ football, girls’ basketball and co-ed cross-country running.

Junior Football – Wednesday, August 20 to Friday, August 29 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Please meet on the football field behind White Pines near the track. Coaches: Mr. Basawa, Mr. McLean, Mr. C. Figures, Mr. Chapman.

Senior Football – Wednesday, August 20 to Friday, August 29 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Please meet on the football field behind White Pines near the track. Coaches: Mr. Basawa, Mr. Reid.

Junior Girls’ Basketball – Monday, August 25 to Friday, August 29 from 12 PM to 2 PM. Please meet in the main gym. Coaches: Ms. DeBoer, Mrs. Huber

Senior Girls’ Basketball – Monday, August 25 to Friday, August 29 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Please meet in the main gym. Coaches: Ms. Kinnunen, Mrs. Huber

Co-Ed Cross-Country Running will begin the week of September 8th after school at 2:30 PM. There will be additional information on morning announcements and Edsby once school has started. All are welcome to join the XC team at WP! Coaches: Mr. Magill, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Caputo, Mr. Purnis and Mrs. Braido.

All athletes are asked to dress appropriately for the weather or gym and bring a refillable water bottle. Football players are encouraged to have cleats, other equipment will be provided. Basketball players are reminded to bring non-marking indoor runners to change into.

September 2, 2025 is a PD Day. Additional try-outs will be held when school begins September 3, 2025.
