At the John Rhodes Centre on Sunday, January 21st, the Korah Colts took to the ice to face the St Mary’s Knights in Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League action.

On a powerplay 2:01 into the opening period, Carter Doucette fires a cross ice pass to Daniel Guzzo in the left faceoff circle to sink a Knights goal behind Colt netminder Kylan Roy to give St Mary’s a 1 – 0 lead. Nik Vecchio had the other helper on Guzzo’s goal. Korah forward Kaylob Thibodeau fires a wrist shot over Knight goaltender Liam Dubois’ catcher to pull the Colts even 1 – 1 at the 12:06 mark of the second. Ethan Ferguson and Luca Venneri earned the assists on Thibodeau’s powerplay tying goal. From the right faceoff circle, Anthony Blonda fires a pass to Lucas Green in the left faceoff circle to find the back of Korah’s net under Roy’s blocker to give the Knights a 2 – 1 lead. Vecchio registered the other contributor on St Mary’s third of the contest at 2:23 of the middle stanza. Knight forward Lucas Green skates coast to coast down the right side of the ice to rifle a wrist shot under Roy’s blocker to increase the lead to 3 – 1 just 57 seconds before the ten minute mark of the third. With 3:47 remaining in Sunday’s contest, Nick Kelly picks up a loose puck in front of the Colts’ crease to lift the Knights fourth past Kylan Roy through a scrum to give St Mary’s a 4 – 1 win. Brayden Luzzi and Vecchio drew the assists on Kelly’s goal.

Next action for the Knights will be a midweek clash on Wednesday, January 24th at the John Rhodes Centre in an 3:30 p.m start while the Colts next contest will be on Sunday, January 28th when they take on the Knights in a 7:00 p.m puck drop at the John Rhodes Centre.
