After a 7 – 2 win on Friday morning over the North Bay U18 Trappers, the Soo U18 Greyhounds took to the ice in Kapuskasing in the 2022 Great North Midget League playoffs against the New Liskeard Cubs in their second game of the day on Friday, March 18th.
Ryan Miller found the back of Greyhound netminder Terry See at 10:20 of the first with Mikaleb Blier and Carson Ruddy drawing the contributors on the Cubs opening goal. With 14 seconds remaining in Friday’s contest with Terry See on the Soo bench for an extra attacker, Nolan Rosko – Fong sinks New Liskeard’s second of the game to give the Cubs a 2 – 0 win.
Greyhound coach Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “it’s a tough feeling right now everyone is pretty down we just didn’t get the job done tonight and now we need help or just like that in this format our season is over.”
The Greyhounds will now wait to see the outcome of the New Liskeard Cubs versus the North Bay U18 Trappers in a 12:00 p.m Saturday, March 19th contest to see if they will have a chance to continue at the 2022 GNML playoffs. With a Cubs win or tie, the U18 season will come to an end.
