The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club is pleased to announce Friday, September 25th the Program’s Leadership Group for the for the 2026-27 Ontario Hockey League season.

Earlier today, team officials named their Captain along with four Alternate Captains.

Travis Hayes (Westland, MI) was named Hounds Captain.
The Pittsburgh Penguins prospect is in his 4th season with the Greyhounds and is presently closing in on his 200th career regular season game played with the club.

The 5.11, 172 lb forward has 127 career points in 188 regular season games played.

Joining Hayes as full-time Alternates are Spencer Evans, Quinn McKenzie while Jordan Charron (home) and Callum Croskery (away) will split the duties to make up the group.

Evans (Stittsville, ON), one of the team’s three overage players, is similarly in his 4th full season with the club fresh off being named the team’s Peter Taylor Memorial Award (Player’s Player) one year ago, a year in which he tied for the best +/- of all defenceman with the club.

McKenzie (Cranberry Twp, PA) is in his 2nd season as a Greyhound after being selected in the 7th Round of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils this summer.
One year ago he was the team’s 3rd-leading scorer in both the regular season and playoffs.

Charron (Ayr, ON), is a third year Greyhound, who one year ago experienced a career-best season while recording the third highest goals (25) on the club.

Croskery (Oakville, ON) starts off his 2nd OHL season with the Hounds having recently participated in Columbus Blue Jackets Main Training camp and Prospects tournament earlier this month.

This summer he represented Canada at the 2026 IIHF U18 Men’s Championship.
