Top Contenders
1. Greater Sudbury Cubs
The defending regular season champions return with a balanced roster of veteran leadership and rising young talent. Known for their relentless forecheck and depth scoring, the Cubs remain the team to beat in 2025-2026.

2. Blind River Beavers
Always tough to play against, the Beavers bring grit and speed to the ice. With strong goaltending and a disciplined defensive structure, Blind River will look to challenge for top spot once again.

3. Timmins Rock
One of the league’s most passionate fan bases backs a team loaded with offensive punch. The Rock combines elite special teams with a fast-paced transition game that makes them dangerous every night.

Dark Horses
4. Hearst Lumberjacks
Physical, skilled, and hard-working, Hearst remains a perennial contender. Their home-ice advantage in “The Lumber Yard” is unmatched, and they return key pieces from a strong playoff run last season.

5. Soo Eagles
The Michigan-based Eagles are known for their energy and aggressive forecheck. With a revamped blue line and explosive forwards, they are poised to climb higher in the standings this year. Cross-border recruiting and veteran coaching put them in prime position to challenge.

A team built on structure and smart play, the Voodoos are always in the mix. If their young core can take the next step, Powassan could emerge as a dark horse come playoff time.

In Transition

8. Soo Thunderbirds
A storied franchise entering a transitional year. Usually a mainstay in the top three, the Thunderbirds appear to be entering a bit of a retool. With key losses from last year’s core and question marks in net, this could be a rare rebuilding season in Sault Ste. Marie.

Rebuilding
9. Kirkland Lake Gold Miners
The Gold Miners continue to develop promising talent and have added size and toughness to their lineup. With a few key additions, they’ll aim to move up the standings this season.
