Coach Jonathan Bujold told Saultsports that “Our defence at home always seems to have abit of extra juice. They are willing to empty the tank knowing we have some depth to fill in for them when they need a breather and it makes a difference. Special team were great today, everyone did their job. Offense had good and bad moments, but ultimately did enough to win. Averaging six yards a carry on the ground certainly helps with controlling the time of possession. It was a much needed win against a team that deserves more credit than their record indicates, especially with a short bench. Now we have a chance to decide our destiny next weekend at home. A win gets us a home field advantage for the semi-finals, and potentially the #1 seed overall. The playoffs start now for us.”
Next up for the Steelers will be on Saturday, July 20th at Rocky DiPietro field when they host the Tri City Outlaws in a 7:30 p.m OP5FL kickoff. In their first 2024 meeting against the Outlaws on June 15th in Guelph, Ontario, Tri City was victorious 21 – 9 over the visiting Steelers.
