Sault Ste Marie’s Colin Kennedy Selected Second Overall by Erie Otters in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection Draft

KINGSTON, ONTARIO – Dreams became reality for Sault Ste. Marie native Colin Kennedy on Friday, June 12, as the talented forward was selected by the Erie Otters with the second overall pick in the first round of the 2026 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection Draft.

The 16-year-old standout has established himself as one of the premier young hockey players in Michigan, earning recognition for his elite skill set, relentless compete level, and ability to impact every shift. Standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 170 pounds, Kennedy’s combination of skill, determination, and hockey IQ made him one of the most highly sought-after prospects in the draft class.

Over the past two seasons with the Little Caesars U14 and U15 AAA programs, Kennedy put together an impressive resume. In 39 games played between 2024 and 2026, he scored 43 goals while adding 35 assists. His offensive production was matched by his competitive edge, as he accumulated 104 penalty minutes, showcasing a willingness to battle in every area of the ice.
