Why is summer football so important to you?
Summer football is so important to me because it allows me to play the sport I love so much even in the offseason. It also allows me to make new friends, learn life lessons, and hone my skills so I can become a better player. I love football so much and being able to play it during the summer is so important to me. I can’t wait to make so many memories this summer and I’m so excited to play the sport I love with my teammates this summer.

What are your personal and team-oriented goals for the upcoming 2026 OSFL season?
I have many personal and team-oriented goals for this season. Firstly, My personal goals are to be one of the best players in the entire league, get better everyday and work on my skills I’m good at already, drastically improve my skills I believe I need to work on, and become a better man along the way. Secondly, my team goals are for my team to have a great time playing football, work as hard as we can, and at the end I would love to hold a trophy above our heads and celebrate winning the championship. I believe we can achieve all these goals if we stay disciplined, work hard, and listen to our coaches.

What are you most looking forward to playing this season for the Sabercats?
I’m looking forward to playing the position of running-back. My family has a history of being running-backs and I would like to carry our history on. My dad Lucas was a running-back, my brother Ronan was an all province running-back, and I’m sure my mom Kara and my sister Ava would’ve been running-back had they ever played football. I also played running-back this fall for my school and helped my team win a NOSSA championship which was the first St Mary’s junior football win since 2011. Lastly I just love the position even the bad that comes with it, playing running-back makes me so happy and it excites me even thinking about it. I can’t wait to play running-back and help my team reach there goals day in and day out.

For anyone that is not familiar with your play style, how would you describe yourself as a player?
I would like to say I’m a big strong back that can use his strength to break tackles but can also use my agility and IQ to make a defender miss and pick the best option for success. I am good at reading plays whether it’s the linebackers hips on or the hole opening up. I can also use my speed to outrun defenders and love to stiff arm. Lastly I will work harder than my opponent on every play no matter what, making me a hard player to play against.

Who is your biggest football role model? Could be a coach, teammate?
My biggest football role model in my life is my brother Ronan. Ronan was the best football player I have ever seen. He has taught me everything I know about my position and has made me a better player and person. Ronan’s football iQ is so high and I’m so proud of him everyday. He has shaped the way I think in so many different ways and I can’t thank him enough. On the other hand I would like to name a few coaches I’m so happy that I got to play for and who taught me so much about football in general. These coaches are Tony Boniferro, Ryan Lillington, Brock Dewar, Ryan Cady, Steve Hayes, Darren Sagle, and Peter Hebert. I cannot thank these coaches enough for what they have done for me and I’m so happy I have got to play for them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to say the coaches I’m looking forward to playing for this summer. They are Jim Monaco, Dylan Monaco, Steve Knott, Coach JRob, Coach Tucker, Coach Bumbaco and many more that are one the staff. Thank you to all these people you guys have changed my life in so many positive ways.

How do you stay motivated and focused during a game or practice?
The way I stay motivated in games and practices is thinking about my team. I never want to let my team down no matter what. This pushes me to work hard and bring out the best in myself every rep. I also think about that championship win. That feeling pushes me everyday and makes me work so hard because that’s my goal at the end of every season.

What do you think makes a great leader on the football field?
I think a great leader on the football field needs to possess many things. They need to be able to hold their teammates accountable but not by screaming at them. They need to be able to stay positive even at the worst times. Leaders have to be hard workers no matter how tired or hurt they are. A leader needs to show up day in and day out and put in the work. Another very important thing a leader needs is the ability to keep a locker room positive, you are only as good as your locker room and if it’s very negative you are going to struggle to win games and trust in your teammates. Lastly I believe a leader needs to be disciplined because your team is going to follow your leaders and the more disciplined they are the more your team will be. Those are all qualities I believe a person needs to possess to become a leader.

What is your greatest accomplishment as a football player?
My greatest accomplishment as a football player is helping my team win a city and NOSSA final championship for my high-school. This was so important to me because we worked so hard and it paid off in the end

What makes you the best candidate for this position that the coaches have asked you to play?
What makes me the best candidate for the position the coaches asked me to play is that I’m skilled but like I said previously I will work harder than my opponent on every rep no matter what happens. You will always get my best effort and I will make sure you don’t regret your decision. That’s what I believe makes me the best candidate for the position they have asked me to play.

What do you think is the most important aspect of being a member of a team?
I think the most important aspect of being a member of a team is positivity. I believe this because if you’re positive your locker room is going to be great your teammates are going to trust you and you’re not going to be worried about making a mistake. Football is a game of mistakes and if you are worried about making them you will never reach your full potential. So I think if you are positive it sets you up for the utmost success.

Finally, what do you think is the most important quality for a football player to possess compared to other sports?
I believe that discipline is the most important quality for a football player to have.
