The 9U Soo Black Sox put on a show over the Saturday, May 31st and June 1st weekend, sweeping a four-game exhibition series against the visiting North Bay Panthers.
The Sox went a perfect 4-0, blasting an impressive nine home runs across the series.
Leading the charge was Lochlyn Moore (born 2017), who made history with a record-setting four home runs in a single game during Sunday morning’s matchup. He finished the weekend with six total home runs, the most ever in a series by a 9U Black Sox player.
Patrick Cristillo got the bats going early with two home runs in Game 1, while Linden Louttit sealed Game 3 with a dramatic walk-off three-run blast.
The team, made up of 11 first-time Black Sox players and returning veteran Theo Rome, now holds a 5-0 record on the season. This includes a 16-5 win over the 11U KC Roofing House League squad last Thursday.
The Black Sox offence was firing on all cylinders, tallying 109 runs over the weekend.
North Bay kept pace in the power department, with Michael Auger launching two impressive home runs over the weekend.
