In their sixth and final regular-season meeting of the 2025–2026 campaign, Marco Mignosa reached a major milestone while leading the Soo Greyhounds to a dominant 6–0 victory over the Saginaw Spirit on Wednesday, February 4th, in Western Conference OHL action.

Entering the night, the eighth-place Spirit (17-24-3-4) held a 3–2 edge in the season series over the fourth-place Greyhounds (29-15-1-3), including a 5–3 win in Saginaw on January 3rd. By the final horn, the Soo made sure the series ended dead even.

The Greyhounds set the tone early and never looked back. At 8:43 of the opening period, Colin Fitzgerald opened the scoring on the power play, burying his 14th of the season off a setup from Marco Mignosa to give the Soo a 1–0 lead after one.

The visitors exploded in the second period. Justin Cloutier doubled the advantage at 4:24 with his third of the season, finishing a play set up by Travis Hayes and Christopher Brown. Less than five minutes later, Jeremy Martin made it 3–0 at 8:57, converting his 19th of the year with assists from Jordan Charron and Mignosa.

The highlight of the night followed at 14:09. On another power play, Marco Mignosa jumped on a rebound and snapped home his 19th goal of the season — a marker that also stood as the 100th regular-season goal of his OHL career. Justin Cloutier and Lukas Fischer earned the assists as the Greyhounds carried a commanding 4–0 lead into the third.

Mignosa wasn’t finished. At 16:13 of the final frame, he struck again to make it 5–0, scoring his 20th of the season and second of the night, with Brodie McConnell-Barker picking up the assist. Justin Cloutier capped off a big evening of his own at 18:10, potting his fourth of the season — and second of the game — unassisted to seal the 6–0 final.

Between the pipes, Carter George was flawless for the Greyhounds, turning aside all 37 shots he faced to earn his third shutout in a Soo jersey. On the other side, Saginaw netminder Stephan Shurygin made 31 saves on 36 shots.

With the win, the Greyhounds even the season series with the Spirit at 3–3 and head back to Sault Ste. Marie riding momentum. The Soo will be back on home ice Friday, February 6th, when they host the Flint Firebirds at the Memorial Gardens. Puck drop is set for 7:07 p.m.
