Northern Ontario race fans are getting set for the final weekend of short-track racing at Laird Raceway, with two nights of action headlining the 2026 season finale on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22.

The weekend will feature the 2026 Prelude to the Michael Parsons Memorial on Friday night before the 2026 Michael Parsons Memorial takes centre stage on Saturday, bringing the 2026 Laird Raceway season to a close.  Flawless Roofing has put up $200 for the fastest qualifier each night for the Super Late Model division.

With championship battles, big-money feature events and the always-popular Spectator Drags scheduled for both nights, race fans will have plenty to watch as drivers make their final laps of the season around Laird Raceway’s ⅓-mile oval.

Friday Night: The Prelude to the Mike Parsons Memorial

Friday, August 21 will feature five divisions of racing, along with the Spectator Drags.

The night will include 20-lap feature events for both the Factory Stock and Modified divisions, with each feature winner taking home $800.

The Spectator Drags will once again give fans one of the most popular attractions of the season, with drivers receiving $50 to start and $100 to win.

The grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., with qualifying scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and the first green flag expected shortly after 7:00 p.m.

Friday admission is $25 for adults, while children and youth 17 and under are admitted free. Seniors aged 75 and older are also admitted free. Pit admission is $35 for all ages.

Saturday Night: The 2026 Mike Parsons Memorial

Saturday, August 22 will bring the biggest night of the weekend and the final race program of the 2026 season.

The headline event will be the 50-lap Michael Parsons Memorial Super Late Model feature, with the winner taking home $6,000, while every driver starting the feature is guaranteed $1,500 to start.

The Modified and Factory Stock divisions will also compete for major payouts, with $1,200 going to the winner of each 40-lap feature.

The Factory Four division will battle through a 30-lap feature, with the winner earning $350, while the Enduro division will close out its season with a 20-lap feature paying $300 to win.

The Spectator Drags will return for a second night, again paying $50 to start and $100 to win.

Saturday’s grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the first green flag is expected just after 7:00 p.m.

Saturday admission is $25 for adults, $10 for children and youth 17 and under, while seniors aged 75 and older are admitted free. Pit admission is $40.

Championship Battles Go Down to the Final Weekend

While the Michael Parsons Memorial will be the main attraction, several drivers will enter the final weekend with season championships still on the line.

Super Late Model

The Super Late Model championship battle will be one of the biggest storylines of the weekend.

1. #61 Dustin Jackson — 195 points
2. #47 Jordan Sims — 165 points
3. #51 Jeremy Van Hoek — 162 points

Jackson enters the final weekend with a 30-point advantage over Jordan Sims, while Jeremy Van Hoek sits just three points behind Sims in third.

The question heading into championship weekend is simple: Can Dustin Jackson hold off Jordan Sims and capture the 2026 Super Late Model Season Championship?

Modified

The Modified championship battle is even tighter.

1. #61 Dustin Jackson — 256 points
2. #22 J.P. DelPaggio — 251 points
3. #84 Mark Laakso — 242 points

Jackson holds only a five-point lead over J.P. DelPaggio, meaning every lap and every position could prove critical when the final points are calculated.

Mark Laakso remains within striking distance as well, sitting just 14 points behind the championship leader.

Jackson could potentially leave Laird Raceway with two season championships, but DelPaggio will be looking to spoil that opportunity on the final weekend.

Factory Stock

1. #80 Brad Bibeau — 249 points
2. #08 Daniel Bibeau — 224 points
3. #4 Dale Tucker — 202 points

Brad Bibeau leads the Factory Stock standings heading into the final weekend with a 25-point advantage over Daniel Bibeau.

Factory Four

1. #07 Will Siddall — 216 points
2. #22X Lucas Crosato — 215 points
3. #17 Shawn Desjardins — 164 points

The Factory Four championship is one of the closest battles of the season, with 14-year-old #07 Will Siddall holding just a one-point advantage over #22X Lucas Crosato heading into the final weekend.

Enduro

1. #95 Lucas Fabbricino — 35 points
2. #19 Dayne Lorenzo — 34 points
3. #44 Eric Sylvestre — 24 points

The Enduro championship will also come down to the wire, with Lucas Fabbricino holding just a one-point lead over Dayne Lorenzo.

Camping Available for the Final Weekend

Race fans looking to make a weekend out of the season finale will have the opportunity to camp right beside the ⅓-mile pits area.

Weekend camping is available for $50, giving fans the chance to stay close to the racing action throughout the final weekend of the 2026 season.

Campers will also be able to pull their trailers into the camping area on Thursday, August 20, during the final Test ‘N’ Tune of the 2026 season, which will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Final Green Flags of 2026

From the championship battles to the $6,000 Michael Parsons Memorial Super Late Model feature, the final weekend at Laird Raceway promises to be a fitting conclusion to the 2026 racing season.

With two nights of racing, major feature payouts, championship battles and Spectator Drags on both evenings, Northern Ontario race fans will not want to miss the final green flags of the year.

Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 — Laird Raceway’s 2026 season finale.

The 2026 Prelude to the Michael Parsons Memorial starts the weekend Friday night, before the 2026 Michael Parsons Memorial brings the season to a close Saturday night. Register here for the spectator drags for August 21 and 22 at Laird Raceway.
