Carina Liguori joins the Algoma OUA Women’s Thunderbird program for the 2022 – 2023 season! Liguori will be studying Business Economics in the fall. “I chose Algoma because it is close to home, and provides opportunities for me to grow as a student and an athlete” says Liguori.

Liguori is local to Sault Ste. Marie, and previously played on the Korah Colts team. Her team has won Both City and NOSSA Championships, then progressed to OFSAA. Although Liguori missed out on various playing opportunities like many other athletes due to the pandemic, she is eager to play at the university level.

However, Liguori does have plenty of experience. She started playing youth soccer at the young age of five. “As I got older I wanted more field time and experience. I then joined indoor and school teams to constantly progress as a player and never have an off season. I’ve been competing for league titles for 10 years; achieving first place or runner ups, ” says Liguori.

Head Coach Neil Ovey states “With Carina, we are adding a dedicated and committed player to our squad. She always strives for improvement in all aspects of the game.”
