Week six senior high school football took to the field at Superior Heights in Sault Ste Marie with the Korah Colts facing the St Mary’s Knights in the second to last week of the 2022 high school regular season at Superior Heights on Friday, October 7th.
With 26.6 seconds remaining in the first half, Ronan Provenzano carries the ball for a three yard Korah touchdown to give the Colts a 6 – 0 lead. Ty Koksi finds the uprights for the Colts with the convert to give Korah a 7 – 0 lead. At 7:59 of the third, Jesse Burella rushes 50 yards for the Colts to bring the lead to 14 – 0 after a successful Koski convert. With a Knight touchdown with 92 seconds left in the third, St Mary’s Jack McPherson pulls the Knights with seven after Daniel Bumbaco kicking a convert. Eight seconds later on the kickoff, Bumbaco kicks the ball through the Colts end zone to add two points on the rouge at the 1:24 mark of the third. With double coverage on Knight Jaiden Trudeau in Korah’s endzone, St Mary’s grade eleven quarterback Matti Tucker goes to the air with a 30 yard pass to find Trudeau in the end zone to give the Knights a 15 – 14 win after Bumbaco convert. With the win, the St Mary’s Knights hand the Korah Colts their first senior loss since 2016.
The Knights will close out their 2022 regular season on Friday, October 14th when they take to the field at 7:30 p.m against the Superior Heights Steelhawks while the Colts will have a bye heading into the 2022 high school football post season.
