The 2026 short-track racing season came to a spectacular conclusion at the ⅓-mile Laird Raceway as more than 70 cars filled the pits for the 2026 Michael Parsons Memorial, the largest car count of the season.

With big payouts and season championships on the line, drivers from across the region battled through a full night of racing. Among the biggest storylines was Dustin Jackson, who entered the final night with a chance to capture championships in both the Super Late Model and Modified divisions.

By the end of the night, Jackson had accomplished exactly that, finishing the season as a dual-division champion at Laird Raceway.

Jackson Captures Super Late Model Championship

The 50-lap Super Late Model feature opened the night with an exciting battle, as #47 Jordan Sims charged from his sixth-place starting position to take the checkered flag and to be crowned the 2026 Michael Parsons Super Late Model champion.

#77 Chase Wilson, who started 10th, moved forward to finish second, while Jackson brought the #61 home in third after starting ninth.

For Jackson, the third-place finish was more than enough to secure the 2026 Laird Raceway Super Late Model championship.

Jackson’s championship capped off a strong season in the division and gave him his first title of the evening.

#55 Dan Leeck of Birch Run, Michigan, finished fourth after starting seventh, with #51 Jeremy Van Hoek completing the top five after starting eighth.

The remainder of the field saw #33 Jordan Rocchetta finish sixth, followed by #79 Roddy Bolduc in seventh and #90 Jay Palumbo in eighth.

#50 Rob Hiiemaa, who started from the pole, finished ninth, while #826 Jordan Parniak, who started second, finished 10th.

Jackson Completes the Championship Double

If winning the Super Late Model championship wasn’t enough, Jackson returned to the track for the 40-lap Modified feature with another championship on the line.

This time, it was #22 J.P. Delpaggio who stole the spotlight, charging from eighth on the starting grid to claim the Modified feature victory.

Jackson, behind the wheel of the #61, started 10th and worked his way forward to finish second.

That runner-up finish secured Jackson’s 2026 Laird Raceway Modified championship, giving him the coveted Super Late Model and Modified championship double.

#84 Mark Laakso finished third after starting ninth, while #01 Jerry Ross came home fourth and #78 Jason Herrington finished fifth.

#11 Leila Whalen finished sixth, followed by #12 Owen Brown in seventh and #86 Dylan Connolly in eighth.

It was a memorable conclusion for Jackson, who finished the night as the champion of both premier divisions.
