On February 3rd, Sault Ste. Marie Boy’s Junior and Senior High School basketball action returned to the hardcourt following the 2026 high school exam break, with four teams back in competitive play across the city. The Korah Colts travelled to St. Mary’s College to take on the Knights, while the Superior Heights Steelhawks matched up against the White Pines Wolverines at White Pines Collegiate.
In senior action, the night featured two tightly contested games that came down to the final minutes. At White Pines, the host Wolverines edged the Superior Heights Steelhawks 47–46 in a thrilling one-point decision. Anthony Hunt led all scorers for the Wolverines with 19 points, while Ethan McCorkell added 12 in the narrow victory. Superior Heights was paced by Drayden Brock with 15 points, supported by Nic Frost’s 10, but ultimately fell just short despite a strong late push.
Over at St. Mary’s College, the Korah Colts earned a hard-fought 50–47 road win over the Knights. Tristan Cote led the Colts offensively with 17 points, while Yehya Abbasi chipped in 11. The Knights received balanced scoring from Gabe Banlaygas and Nishchay Dua, who each finished with nine points, but Korah’s composure in the closing moments proved to be the difference.
Junior action saw more decisive outcomes. The Superior Heights Steelhawks claimed a 58–47 win over the White Pines Wolverines, with Nik Joseph leading the way with 17 points and Isaiah Davies adding 15. For White Pines, Christian Budd scored 17, while Brodie Marchand and Aiden Dacosta each contributed eight points in the loss.
At St. Mary’s, the Korah Colts junior squad delivered an impressive offensive performance in a 58–48 victory over the Knights. Paxton Brodie had a standout night, pouring in 32 points to lead all scorers, while Nolan Coudert added 10 for Korah. The Knights were led by Lukas Maninos with 17 points and Luke Cady with 12.
With the results from February 3rd now in the books, the updated senior standings see the White Pines Wolverines remain perfect at 8–0, followed by the St. Mary’s Knights and Korah Colts both sitting at 3–5, and the Superior Heights Steelhawks at 2–6. In the junior division, the St. Mary’s Knights lead the way at 7–1, followed by the Korah Colts at 5–3, Superior Heights at 4–4, and the White Pines Wolverines still searching for their first win at 0–8.
The 2025–2026 Sault Ste. Marie Boy’s Junior and Senior High School regular season will wrap up on Thursday, February 5th. The Wolverines will head to St. Mary’s College to face the Knights, while the Korah Colts will host the Superior Heights Steelhawks at Korah Collegiate. Tip-off times are set for 5:30 p.m. for the junior games and 7:00 p.m. for the senior matchups.
