At the McMeeken Centre in Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League action, the Korah Colts hit the ice for the first time in 2023 to take on the Superior Heights Steelhawks on Tuesday, January 3rd.

2:47 into the opening period, Luca Venneri game the Colts a 1 – 0 lead with goal behind Steelhawk goaltender Tyler Greco. Connor Chow Lynn and Ronan Provenzano drew the helpers on Venneri’s goal. Kaylob Thibodeau gave Korah a 2 – 0 lead at 6:21 of the first with Cole Arruda notching the assists on Thibodeau’s goal. With Superior Heights on a powerplay, Dylan Garson pulls the Steelhawks within one 2:02 into the middle stanza with Connor Ouimette drawing the lone contributor on Murphy’s powerplay goal. With an unassisted goal, Owen Case pulls Superior Heights even 2 – 2 at the 9:47 mark of the second. At 11:16 of the third, Connor Chow Lynn gives the Colts a 3 – 2 lead with Kaylob Thibodeau setting up Chow Lynn’s powerplay marker behind Superior Heights Tyler Greco. Ronan Provenzano brings the lead to 4 – 2 for Korah five seconds before the halfway mark of the period with Dylan Garson adding the helpers on Provenzano’s second point of the contest. With 50 seconds remaining in the game on January 3rd, Connor Ouimette scores the final goal for the Steelhawks. Brady DesChene had the lone assist on Ouimette’s second point of the game.

The Colts and Steelhawks are both back in action at the John Rhodes Centre on Thursday, January 5th in a 3:30 p.m puck drop.
