Coming off a dominant 12–0 victory in Game One of their best-of-three semi-final series, the Korah Colts returned to the ice on Sunday, February 22, at the John Rhodes Centre determined to finish the job against the CASS Huskies and secure a spot in the Sault Ste. Marie Boy’s High School Hockey League City Championships.
The Colts set the tone in the opening period. At 9:37, Bodie Belair opened the scoring with his 3rd goal of the postseason, assisted by Preston Miller and Jackson Burrows, giving Korah a 1–0 lead after one.
Korah extended the advantage in the second period. At 12:40, Ryan Johnson scored his 1st of the postseason, assisted by Will Pusch, making it 2–0. Just under three minutes later, at 9:46, Koen Manchulenko added his 3rd of the postseason, with assists from Max Battacchio and Preston Miller, pushing the lead to 3–0.
The Huskies responded at 6:16, as Noah Smith netted his 1st of the postseason, assisted by Teagun Beaulieu and Logan McAulay, cutting the deficit to 3–1. Korah answered back quickly. At 3:14, Max Battacchio scored his 4th of the postseason, assisted by Tyler Lang and Tyler Neveau, followed by another Battacchio tally at 2:25—his 5th of the postseason—with assists from Tyler Lang and Jackson Burrows, giving the Colts a commanding 5–1 lead heading into the third.
CASS opened the third with a shorthanded goal at 4:05, as Austin Finlayson scored his 2nd of the postseason, assisted by Logan McAulay and Noah Smith, trimming the score to 5–2. Any momentum was short-lived, however. At 3:04, Preston Miller restored Korah’s four-goal cushion with a power-play marker—his 1st of the postseason—assisted by Bodie Belair and Tyler Neveau. The Colts capped the scoring at 1:37, when Tyler Neveau recorded his 2nd of the postseason, assisted by Ryan Johnson and Gavin Avery, sealing the 7–2 victory.
For the Huskies, Jack Unetic was between the pipes in the loss, battling through sustained pressure from the Colts’ attack. At the other end of the ice, Payton Melchiorre handled the goaltending duties for the Colts in Game Two, helping Korah secure the series-clinching victory.
With the game two semi-final win, the Korah Colts officially punched their ticket to the 2026 Sault Ste. Marie Boy’s High School Hockey League City Championships. In addition, the victory clinched Korah a berth in the NOSSA Hockey Championships, with Sault Ste. Marie set to host the 2026 event on March 9 and 10.
