Allard, Perna, Masse, Beaupre, and Toni Lead the U18 Black Sox in Doubleheader Over Panthers

On Tuesday, May 23rd, the Soo U18 Black Sox headed south of the border for a doubleheader to take on the Pickford Panthers in Pickford Michigan.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox defeated Pickford Panthers 11-1 in their second game of the day thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox big bats were led by Zach Allard, Carmine Perna, Cole Masse, Ty Beaupre, and Nolan Toni, all driving in runs in the frame.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox fired up the offense in the first inning, when Michael Starzomski homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox scored seven runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox was led by Allard, Perna, Masse, Beaupre, and Toni, who all drove in runs.

Kolton Tremblay took the win for Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox. Tremblay surrendered one run on one hit over three innings, striking out four. Lucas Carriere threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Braylon Rounds took the loss for Pickford Panthers 23. Rounds lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and 11 runs while striking out two.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox launched one home run on the day. Starzomski had a four bagger in the first inning.

Toni led Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox with two hits in three at bats.

Game One
Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox defeated Pickford Panthers 17-0 on Tuesday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Cole Masse struck out Blake Spencer to finish off the game.

Caleb Walker collected four hits in five at bats to help lead Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox to victory. Walker singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, and doubled in the fifth.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox got on the board in the first inning. Keyton Mousseau drove in one when Mousseau singled.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox notched ten runs in the fifth inning. Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox’s big inning was driven by doubles by Ty Beaupre, Walker, and Connor Bruzas, singles by Lucas Carriere and Lucas DiBerardino, a walk by Jace Hill-Pine, and by Walker.

One bright spot for Pickford Panthers was a single by Cale Maciag in the fourth inning.

Nolan Toni led the Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox to victory on the hill. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two. Michael Hapanovich and Masse entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Maciag took the loss for Pickford Panthers. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on eight hits over three innings, striking out four.

Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox tallied 15 hits in the game. Walker, Kolton Tremblay, DiBerardino, and Carriere all managed multiple hits for Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox. Walker led Elks 341 U18 Soo Black Sox with four hits in five at bats.

Maciag went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Pickford Panthers 23 in hits.

Next up for the Soo U18 Black Sox will again be across the St Mary’s River with a doubleheader on Thursday, May 25th with game times of 4:15 p.m and 6:00 p.m against the Sault High Blue Devils.
