With over 3,000 race fans packing the stands at Laird Raceway on Thursday, August 7th, the atmosphere was electric as more than 65 cars roared around the ⅓-mile D-shaped short track for another action-packed edition of Thursday Night Thunder in Laird, Ontario.

In the Super Late Model division, it was a caution-filled feature that kept everyone guessing until the final laps. Jordan Sims (#47) powered his way to the checkered flag, edging out Dustin Jackson (#61) for the win. The “Flying Finn,” Heyden’s own Rob Hiiemaa (#61), rounded out the podium with a strong third-place finish.

The Modified division saw Sault Ste. Marie’s JP Depaggio (#22) put on a dominant performance, crossing the line with a five-car-length lead over Echo Bay’s Mark Laakso (#84). Laakso narrowly held off Dustin Jackson (#61), who was pulling double duty in both the Modified and Super Late Model divisions.

In Factory Stock action, it was a family affair as brothers Daniel Bibeau (#08) and Brad Bibeau (#80) swept the top two spots, holding off a hard-charging Dale Tucker (#4) who secured third place.

The Factory Four division featured a strong showing from Christopher Viotto (#3), who claimed the win ahead of Logan Lavoy (#13) and Dyllen Sherrard (#16), completing the top three.

In the Enduro division, Eric Sylvestre (#44) led all 15 laps, fending off challenges from second-place finisher Dayne Lorenzo (#19) and third-place Chris Pinder (#95) to seal the victory.

Even intermission brought thrills, with Lawnmower Racing entertaining the crowd. Aaron “El Chapo” Chapman outpaced Darcy Reid and Ray Ferguson to take top honours.
