Another exciting night of short track racing was on full display at Laird Raceway on Thursday, July 9, as more than 50 race cars packed the one-third mile oval for week three of the 2026 racing season. Fans in attendance were treated to five competitive feature events along with the season’s first Spectator Drags, making for an action-filled evening from the opening green flag to the final checkered.

The return of the popular Spectator Drags had fans on their feet as local drivers battled head-to-head down the front stretch. When the dust settled, Dillon Huffman, a second-generation spectator drag racer and son of longtime competitor Mike Huffman, claimed the bragging rights after defeating #86 Dylan “The Grinch” Connolly in the championship run. The crowd-pleasing event added another layer of excitement to an already entertaining night of racing.

In the Modified Division, #61 Dustin Jackson climbed to the top step of the podium after capturing his first feature victory of the season. Jackson ended #22 J.P. Delpaggio’s dominance after Delpaggio opened the season with victories during the first two weeks. Jackson’s strong performance earned him the checkered flag, while Delpaggio settled for second and #84 Mark Laakso rounded out the top three.

The Super Late Model Division continued to belong to the Wilson family. #77 Chase Wilson returned to victory lane for his second win in three weeks after also capturing the opening night feature. During week two, the Steel City Outlaw, George Wilson, piloted the same No. 77 machine to victory, giving the team three consecutive feature wins to begin the 2026 season. Chase Wilson crossed the finish line ahead of Jordan Sims in the No. 47, while Dustin Jackson completed a strong evening by finishing third.

The 4 Cylinder Division once again produced close racing throughout the feature event. #86 Dustin Couturier earned the victory after holding off #14M Chris Pinder, with #38F Dylan Couturier completing the podium in third.

In the Enduro Division, #44 Eric Sylvestre put together an impressive drive to claim the feature win. #95 Lucas Fabbricino crossed the line in second, while #19 Dayne Lorenzo completed the top three finishers.

The Factory Stock Division saw the Bibeau family continue its strong season as #08 Daniel Bibeau raced to the checkered flag. #80 Brad Bibeau followed closely behind in second, while #29X Xavier Carter earned a well-deserved third-place finish.

The excitement continues next Thursday, July 16, when Week Four of the 2026 racing season returns to Laird Raceway. Qualifying is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., with the first green flag dropping shortly after 7:00 p.m. Grandstand Admission – Adults: $25, Children & Youth (17 and under): FREE, Seniors (75 and older): FREE, and All Pit Passes: $35
