The Algoma Thunderbirds announced Tuesday, December 10th the addition of Gabriel Etienne to their men’s soccer program. A talented left wing hailing from Vaughan, Ontario, Gabriel brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success both on and off the field.
Currently attending St. Elizabeth Catholic High School, Gabriel has honed his skills through competitive play with the Vaughan Soccer Club and West Toronto United FC. His dedication to the sport has taken him to esteemed tournaments such as the Charity Shield, Bethesda (Maryland), PDA, Jefferson Cup, and the FTF Top 60. Throughout his career, Gabriel has earned numerous accolades, including six FTF MVP awards and recognition at the Charity Shield – a testament to his outstanding performances and commitment to excellence.
“I believe I’ll bring hard work, dedication, and determination to the Thunderbirds,” said Gabriel when asked about what he hopes to contribute to the team. His passion for soccer and strong work ethic are qualities that align perfectly with the values of our program.
Outside of soccer, Gabriel enjoys traveling and exploring new places. He chose Algoma University for its calming environment, making it an ideal setting to balance academics and athletics.
The Algoma Thunderbirds are excited to welcome Gabriel Etienne and look forward to seeing his impact on the field as we continue to build a competitive and dynamic soccer program.
