Undrafted Tye Kartye was the second Soo Greyhound to ink a three year entry level contract on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 with the National Hockey League expansion Seattle Kraken.

At the beginning of the 2021 – 2022 NHL season, the third year Greyhound 6’1″ forward attended the 2021 Seattle Kraken training camp. As of March 1st, the Kingston, Ontario native has 33 goals and 25 assists in 45 games in a Greyhound jersey. With 58 points, Kartye sits in second overall in scoring with the Soo. The 20 year old is first in the Ontario Hockey League with 17 powerplay goals along with nine game winners in 2021 – 2022 as of March 1st.

The Kingston, Ontario native was drafted in the eighth round with 158th selection in the 2017 Ontario Hockey League draft.
